It is possible that computers and robotics will kill us all off at some point but I plan to have as much fun with technology as possible until it happens. It is all down to learning the tools and how to use them in conjunction with one another, and it can be overwhelming in case of programs like photoshop, but it can be learned, and once you do you just down want to go back (if you are interested in learning photoshop, photo editing or photo manipulation - contact me directly and we can discuss private workshops). The same as it happened with cameras, when the digital ones phased out the film cameras. I know that film is still in use, but in all honesty, why bother. Digital is far more fun, clean and does not honk. Digital art and the literally endless creative possibilities it offers is all too good to pass on. I am already working on merging 2D with 3D and going completely mental with my sci fi projects. I decided to go fucking nuts with this one and spend tons of time polishing the details of the engine parts, armor and then blending the image with a background. The most time consuming part was creating the armor and all adding all the details, joints, engines, lights, lines, and so on. The final image is about 10,000 x 6000 pixels, so I am posting two 100% crops of the original image, so you can see some close ups. Good composite photography and photoshop manipulation are all about matching the light, perspective, and color. Having some sort of idea or a artistic concept of which direction to go with the image is also very helpful. Although I haven't used any reference photos, it often helps to look at some examples in case you need to get inspired. I have recorded a video on how tis image was created, from start to finish, and I will post it tomorrow on my Youtube channel. I am working on a new sexy cyborg girl photoshop manipulation, and it looks like this one will be by far the most complex one have created so far. I am about half way through and I already started a 145th layer in photoshop. The more details are in a composite image the better, and the more work you put into polishing those details the better, and those details take a lot of time. I ve been working on this 6h so far, and it seems that another 5h or so should do it. Regardless the time spent, I love working on my hot cyber girl army and sci fi projects. Very relaxing and keeps me sane in this more and more retarded world. Anyways, I thought I will share with you an something that is being created at the very moment. I took this photo today at my place. We had an amazing back light pouring through the window, being diffused by a paper cloth screen. I was taking photos for a new sci fi cyber girl photoshop manipulation and I just could not resist not taking a few silhouetted shots. So I brought this one into photoshop and had a bit of fun with it, added some textures, selective vignetting, my Chinese calligraphy art in ancient seal script, and the wings to complete the composition and add some mystery and fantasy elements to the photo. The text reads 別天地 and it means another world. Photography is great and all but photo editing, and especially photo manipulation and composite photography, is where the real creative fun starts. I find it very artistically fulfilling and relaxing at the same time.

Flash photography has the great advantage of offering an immense control over light. You can sculpt it and bend it the way you want. It is great in working in confined spaces, where strobes would blast the place with light like x-rays. Flash throws some very hard light, but when softened up with some light modifiers like softboxes is just amazing. Here is a result of a short photoshoot at my place today, I added my calligraphy to make the image a bit more interesting and dill the negative space to the left. I dropped the opacity so the attention goes to the model, which is mirrored by the faded kanji (麗 - graceful). Any type of photography that involves photographing people is based on some sort of a relationship between the model and the photographer. Naturally this applies to any type of art, like sculpture, or painting. Portrait photography for example is more difficult than people may think. Often times I have to be able to capture the real character and personality on my camera, after meeting them only a few minutes earlier. It is our job as photographers to be able to connect, to reach through all the social masks and safety doors, and get through to the core of a person. On top of this we have to be able to evoke real emotions, and be fast enough to photograph them before they fade away. Now, boudoir or nude photography brings this to a higher level. A model is trusting us with her intimacy, and it is crucial to respect it. I don't know about you but I love working with the same models over and over, as the more we work together the better the photos will be. Look at painters, they all had their favourite models, and for a good reason. It is a unique bond of mutual appreciation and trust, difficult to build, but easy to lose. Then there is body painting or in my case calligraphy body art. Ask a professional photographer if he would dare to touch a female model during a nude shoot. I highly doubt it. I have to spend hours (full body texts can take as long as 4h or more of continuous writing) touching the model head to toes during writing. This is one of the most intimate types of photography out there, and it could not be done without a really good understanding or trust. Respect and understand your models guys, listen to them and learn, and you will get great results. This is a re-edited version of a photo that I took back in 2013 with one of my most favorite texts - the Buddhist Heart Sutra. This is my copy of a classic by Wang Xizhi from the 4th century C.E. in semi-cursive script. I gave this photo an old distressed look, as if it was recovered from an old building or some forgotten drawer on an attic in the distant future. The scratched-like text to the right is in oracle bone script and reads "Tokyo 2015". I think the original mood of the photo fits perfectly for such a dramatic edit. This photo now tells many different stories.

There are no distractions, only the game of limited tones and textures. The eternal battle between light and shadow creating pleasing composition and shapes. To be able to create a great black and white shot, you really have to nail the composition, and make sure that you convert your tones properly by adjusting color levels of the photo in order to create contrast between tones. Here is a delicate portrait in black and white of lovely Rita - an artist from Hong Kong. We had lots of fun running and shooting, and she was absolutely amazing, so I thought I would share one of the shots with you guys!

I can design for you a tatto of any length, from a single character to the entire body. All my tattoo designs are researched, studied and written the way I would write a calligraphy work, with a brush on paper. Each calligraphy work is very unique, and cannot be reproduced. I do not sell the same design twice, so you have my assurance that no one on Earth will have the same tattoo as you do. I adjust my writing style according to your sex, character, personality, the meaning of the text, etc. Tattoos can be ordered in few calligraphy scripts. You will find more details here.

Hire a photographer in Tokyo Buy original Chinese and Japanese calligraphy art Due to increasing amount of emails and inquiries regarding Japanese kanji tattoos written in calligraphic scripts, I decided to launch a new service page with all the details and prices. Tattoos are for a life, so when searching for a design we want something unique. Tattoos in Chinese characters are common, but I have rarely seen any decent ones, not to mention any good ones. If you are looking for a Japanese kanji tattoo design you should look for someone knowledgeable in the era of Chinese characters and Japanese or Chinese calligraphy. Tattooing computer fonts is a blasphemy, not to mention that such tattoos look really boring. IT may seem cool in the Western countries, but whenever you meet any native speaker of a language that utilizes Chinese characters, your tattoo will not be appreciated. So we popped outside today to capture a few urban portraits, in a semi glamor slash fashion feel to it. Nude photography requires a lot of trust. Body art requires even more trust, as I have to touch my models to write on them, and sometimes I can write for a few hours, depending on the length of the text. Erotic photography goes further into the personal space of your model, so you really have to have her trust to be able to capture something truly exciting, but at the same time natural and not staged. Photography is the art of capturing the light and telling story with highlights and shadows. Why not convey something that entangles the mind, making you wander into the realm of eroticism.

Hire a photographer in Tokyo Buy original Chinese and Japanese calligraphy art Working on photos and editing tons of shots may lead to tunnel vision and resulting in similar type of edits. Lots of people use presets, not even knowing what they do. That includes the professional photographers as well. Some people don't even possess the skill to edit their own work, which is pretty scary. It is like a cook who buys veggies on the market and calls for help to cook the meal. Learning and studying will develop your artistic vision, and it is most likely to change over the time. I learn new skills on a daily basis, and my photoshop techniques improve quite rapidly. I am often revisiting some of my favoring works and re-editing them applying what I have learned since I worked on them. Sometimes I give photos a new twist. All in all I love editing 1 photo in many different ways. It leads to amazing discoveries. In this case the reason for editing is complex. One, is that I love this shot. Two, is that I love this calligraphy classic, and three is that this very classic is one of the mandatory subjects for my Master Instructor exams in calligraphy this year.
model: Asuka / Japanese calligraphy - my copy of a Chinese classic Shu Pu from the early Tang Dynasty (7th century) by Sun Guoting, who was an absolute genius of cursive script. It has been raining in Tokyo, so I decided to stay home and shoot something wet and steamy, just like the weather. Whenever I shoot boudoir or nude photography I love working with deep shadows, drama and lots of contrast. Erotic and sensual photography should be teasing and untold, leaving something for the viewers to want to discover on their own, or even leave certain things vague. Here is first version of this shot, perhaps I will re-edit this photo on another day in black and white or some different toning. For boudoir / nude photoshoot booking please contact me directly.

I was toying with different light setups there other day for my portrait photography here at my studio in Tokyo and I had this massive Profoto octa box set up behind my model / wife. It had a blue gel on and I was using CTO gel on my main light. Then I decided to switch the back light and use the octa with a grid as a backdrop and kept shooting with one light only. We captured some amazing photos, had lots of fun, and so here I share one of them with you. Enjoy!

I have added my Japanese calligraphy to the photo, which reads 翔心 - i.e. soaring mind. I also added some bokeh (from Japanese word 暈ける, which means to fade or to blur) and lens flare to make it more stage like or even cinematic.

My pohoto retouching style has evolved so dramatically, that I am re-editing all my photos taken 6 months ago and before. Lots of work, especially that new photos are coming in nearly on a daily basis. It is important to keep the portfolio up to date and all photos there should be consistent in style. Anyways, I enjoy editing photos, so I am having fun, especially that it is really cool to see new editions and new versions, and having a chance to compare how I evolve as an artist. This is a fragment of Heart Sutra, it is a copy of a masterpiece from Tang Dynasty by a great calligrapher Ouyang Xun, in standard script.

Text reads: 櫻吹雪, i.e. - snowstorm of sakura petals. I gave this photo a new look, much more moody, dramatic but at the same time intimate and mysterious. High contrast, low key and slight blur on the edges. Girls interested in body art photo shoot please contact me directly (Tokyo area only). Here is re-edited photo from a Chinese calligraphy body art photo shoot that I had with a Japanese model Asuka some 1.5 year ago. I have redone this shot from scratch and gave it a fresher look. I also added some textures, delicate bronze tones, and engulfed it in deep shadows, to add a bit of mystery. Asuka is Buddhist, and she actually asked me to write the Heart Sutra on her skin for protection. It is a copy of a stunning masterpiece by Ouyang Xun, a brilliant Tang dynasty calligrapher, who excelled in standard script. I edited this photo in photoshop, trying a few filters from Google software and Topaz labs
I have redone this portrait of Nicole today, added make-up, reshaped the face lines with shadows, and added some skin texture. This is the first time I actually had to increase and amplify skin texture. This was shot in high key, plus the model's skin is insanely smooth, so the skin texture was very shallow. A tricky photo to edit but lots of fun. Also, since the eyes are now more powerful and strong due to make-up, and colour splash, I cropped the photo tighter to make the image even more intense. previous version

model: Eccaia This photo is one of the shots that I took last year during a Japanese calligraphy body art marathon with a Japanese model Asuka. I gave this photo a new look today so I decided to post it. I gave it a nice brown finish with a bit of grain, and I really like how it turned out.
