My studio in Tokyo offers custom kanji tattoo designs in five major Chinese calligraphy scripts (seal script, clerical script, cursive script, standard script, and semi-cursive script), as well as in Japanese kana script.
I am a certified calligrapher in Japan, under the All Japan Calligraphy and Literature Association, with many achievements in the field and gold awards won during numerous national Japanese calligraphy contests, and 16 years of experience and studies in Japan (currently Master level). I am a disciple of a Grand Master Kajita Esshuu, who is one of the most respected and knowledgeable calligraphy scholars in Kanto area, with decades of experience in coaching calligraphy Masters on the national level. I am the author of books on the etymology of Japanese writing systems. I live and teach Japanese calligraphy here in Tokyo, and I am well accustomed with Japanese culture and nuances.
