Standard script (楷書) evolved from mature clerical script (八分隷)  during early Han Dynasty (漢朝, 206 B.C.E. - 220 C.E.) ca. 170 B.C.E., and reached its peak during the Tang Dyansty (唐朝, 618 - 907). Chronologically, standard script is the fourht script of Chinese calligraphy to appear. Please see the history of Chinese and Japanese calligraphy menu for more detailed information.
