I think of boudoir and nude photography the same way as Chinese calligraphy art. To be truly beautiful and hauntingly sensual, it should be untold, intimate and magical. There should be a lot of room for the imagination to move, and the viewer should be tipped, but never informed. It should be abstract and subtle, yet at the same time powerful and well balanced. The light is the key here, the negative space should define the shape, and not the other way around. Just like when you look at Chinese calligraphy art, you should look at the white space around the characters, and seek balance and energy there. It is the shadows that sell the magic, not the highlights. Text in Chinese: 女軆為秘堂 - woman's body is a temple of secrets.
