Portraiture photography is one of my favourite. I love capturing expressions and moments that cannot be reproduced. It is just like Chinese calligraphy, which cannot be rewritten in the same way. Split toning technique comes from film days, and it was achieved by mixing incorrect chemicals with a certain type of film, which now can be done digitally in Lightroom or photoshop. It is usually down to adding blue cast to shadow areas and yellow or orange cast to highlights. Often seen in Hollywood movies and it is based on the concept of how eyes wander through the image, Saturated and warm areas will most likely draw your attention first.
