If you are in Tokyo, between January 22nd and March 3rd 2013, I highly recommend the calligraphy exhibition of the calligraphy sage Wang Xizhi. The National Museum of Tokyo in Ueno, will be displaying copies (none of the original Wang Xizhi works survived) of his works, which were written by most distinguished calligraphers of the Tang dynasty, on the order of the emperor Taizong, who dearly cherished Xizhi's works. This is THE event, possibly the most significant calligraphy even in Japan in past 10 years. Those calligraphy works are among the most valued pieces of ancient Chinese literature.
